Some Changes

Sitting in the back of a car for 3 hours can be pretty monotonous. Why not make it more enjoyable with some art? I used a previous piece, but I tried to add some cool effects. (i.e. textural overlays and new triangles) I would love to hear any suggestions. I posted both pieces below. Thank you.

Pablo Pescado

In class I have been working on some tutorials that were assigned. Nothing finished yet. Here is something that I did the other day to keep you interested. I drew it on paper, then I traced it using the pen tool on Photoshop.

Titanic Hoax in Honor of the 100th Anniversary

I made a piece for the a project in class. The goal was to make an urban legend. I thought that I would make a Titanic urban legend, an alternative ending to the Titanic story. In my parody, the Titanic survives and is arriving in New York City, after rumors of striking an iceberg. I constructed the newspaper from scratch in Photoshop, the articles I found from wikipedia and I edited them a little to be in the present tense. Enjoy.

Give Me Some Action(s)

In class, our assignment was to use Photoshop actions to create two pieces. I tried two different types of actions. For the first one, I used patterns. I used an action to make 1 by 1 checkerboard selections and the three triangle design on the right.

For the second piece I used actions to make patterns. I made an action that made each quadrant on my piece a different color. Then I created and action that changed the opacity and blending mode and delete a region to reveal part of a picture behind the original.

Step Brothers + Anchorman = ?

I made a piece that mated the two movies Step Brothers and Anchorman together. I'm playing off the fact that Will Ferrell is in both movies. I'll post the finished piece when I get to school tomorrow. What should I call it???

Life is Fragile

This is a new piece I did for the Panzi Foundation Art Exhibit at the Holocaust Museum. It signifies how Life is Fragile.

Snack Some Smiles Back

This is probably one of my favorite pieces. It was my first attempt at a pencil in picture piece.

Eye Rhyme

This has to be one of my favorite pieces. I originally did this piece for an English project, but I decided to enter it into several art shows. It was in the student exhibit at the Dali Museum.

YTG

I've been working on this piece in my free time. I'm trying to make two similar images overlap to form one. I'm working with some textures to overlay and give it a cool effect. I'll take suggestions.

Pencil in Picture Portfolio

Awhile ago I saw this by Ben Heine portfolio on Yahoo! News and it really caught my eye. I decided I would base my portfolio off of it. I went through several approaches: including drawing the pictures, photoshop filters etc. I wanted to show my favorite pieces from my portfolio for my first blog entry to kind of show my artistic style. Enjoy.
